"To
my employers - the voters and taxpayers of Cuyahoga County
- I humbly ask once again for the trust and confidence
you have bestowed upon me with your votes in 1992,
1994, 2000, and 2006. I now seek election to the
Cuyahoga County Probate Court.
I began my career handling
cases in probate court under John T. Corrigan, and work
I did as an Assistant United States Attorney included
eminent domain cases, which fall within the jurisdiction
of probate court. Over
the last seventeen years, I have made my mark in the
General Division of the Common Pleas Court. I
have maintained my civil and criminal docket; have handled
my foreclosure docket without the assistance of a foreclosure
magistrate; and have protected the public. I am looking for a new challenge and
seek a return to my early legal roots.
If elected,
I will bring the same approach to the probate court. This
will insure that political patronage and gamesmanship
will not run amok. In
addition, I will bring the same work ethic and integrity
to the probate court that I have used during my time
in the general division. Court dates and times will be enforced
so that cases do not linger and parties will be able
to move on with their lives.
I am proud of the fact that I have maintained my docket so that cases
can be tried on the date they have been scheduled because
justice delayed is justice denied. In
addition, I am proud that I have been able to tackle head
on my foreclosure docket.
Above all else, however, I am most
proud of the fact that I have never done anything to jeopardize
my judicial integrity. Although
parties may disagree with my rulings, I make a conscientious
effort to follow the law. Litigants should feel confident knowing
that they had their day in court and that I heard their
case impartially.
When
you cast your ballot this fall, remember, we need good
judges.
